That time of year again - Stoney

It is about this time of year when the the collective also know as Yorkshire Divers head to Stoney from their respective parts of the country. These trips start to get organised months in advance and the time is now, this weekend up to 70 YDers will decend on Stoney for a mass get together. Most will venture in to the cold February waters on mulitple occasions, some like me will stand on the side lines and water. Yes I know diving is not a spectator sport but that doesn’t stop me braving the cold and standing around chatting, whilst others get in and out of their kit telling me how cold it was.

I will be providing support and tea where necessary with camera in hand just in case there is anything which needs documenting. Some of us are staying overnight and will probably be partaking of a couple of beers over the course of the evening. These weekends and others like them have become like a pilgrimage for the membership, we will meet up with those we don’t see very often.
